ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

SKOPJE, MACEDONIA

An Accounting Assistant is responsible to do the following but not limited to proving support to the accounting operations by filling documents, processing invoices, reconciling statements, running reports in various software applications.

Main Job Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain accounting databases by entering data into the computer and processing backups
  • Responsible to audit supplier invoices, record expenses and process invoices for payment
  • Deal with supplier’s invoice queries in a fast and efficient manner
  • Update system with supplier contact and billing details and enter new supplier details on the system
  • Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger
  • Verify financial reports by running performance analysis software program
  • Timely and accurate solving of internal/external queries regarding Accounts Receivables and/or Accounts Payables
  • Prepare, verify and consolidate A/R or A/P reports and statements, as required by the financial and operational management of the Company
  • Implement and maintain accounting procedures to comply with internal control requirements 
  • Any other regular or ad-hoc reporting required by supervisor and/or group managers
  • Any other admin or accounting tasks, as resulting from daily or extraordinary course of business
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

 Skills and Personal attributes:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Strong mathematics and analytical skills required
  • Must have strong MS Excel skills
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is preferred
  • High accuracy and quality with attention to detail
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively
  • Ability to work within a team structure while delivering strong customer service
  • Be self-motivated and action oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
  • Maturity, professionalism and high level of discretion is required
  • Work experience in accounting/finance department of multinational companies would be an asset
